Investment Opportunities
Build a lasting legacy for our children and our community
If you are ready to make an investment with real staying power, consider sponsoring a component of our new building. Donors who give 50% or more of the estimated building costs listed below will receive appropriate signage and donor recognition at the area selected.
Youth Development Center $8,000,000
The building will encompass 25,000 sq. ft. and offers a variety of activities and enrichment programs each day after school, on weekends, and during school vacation periods. During the school day, the Alameda Unified School District will use the facility to supplement their educational curriculum.
Gymnasium $2,500,000
The Gymnasium will offer a wide variety of fitness opportunities for youth including team sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, floor hockey, and badminton as well as physical fitness classes and other creative activities. The space will also serve as a special event center, a large community meeting area, and an assembly hall for the school and club. When combined with the stage area, it will provide seating for musical and theatrical performances.
Teen Center $950,000
Teens appreciate privacy, so we will provide them with their own space and separate entrance with the plans, furnishings and programs designed by teens themselves in partnership with our professional staff. We will use this space to deliver our community service and leadership programs as well as present workshops in financial literacy, career planning, college admission, and important life skills.
Dental & Health Screening Clinic $500,000
This innovative addition to a traditional Boys & Girls Club model will allow parents to obtain no-cost dental, health, and vision screenings for their children by volunteer medical and dental professionals with referrals for any situations requiring more attention. We will also provide instruction on proper tooth care and emphasize healthy lifestyles.
Learning Center $400,000
Academic achievement is an important part of our youth development strategy. The Learning Center is a quiet, classroom environment where caring adult professionals and volunteers will provide homework help, tutoring and academic enrichment activities for all youth to help them become self-directed learners responsible for their own academic success. Boys & Girls Club academic programs include Power Hour, Project Learn, and Goals for Graduation.
Technology Center $300,000
We recognize that technological mastery is becoming essential, not only for the academic success of our youngsters, but also for their future career success as well. A fully equipped and staffed Computer Center will allow us to provide members with the technological skills they need to compete and succeed. Our Club Tech Program (Designed for Boys & Girls Clubs by Microsoft) provides all the training and teaching tools necessary to make technology mastery interesting and fun for children.
Performance Arts Studio & Stage $300,000
This unique area will open on to the gymnasium and serve as a performance stage. When closed it becomes both a dance studio, martial arts classroom, and a meeting place for groups like Boy and Girl Scouts. Performing in front of an audience develops poise and self-confidence for children at an early age and is an important part of their development.
Arts and Crafts $250,000
Creative expression is a valuable outlet for all children and especially effective for youngsters experiencing difficulties in their lives. Our program offers a variety of activities and media for children to explore and also emphasizes art appreciation through field trips to museums and galleries as well as presentations at the Center.
Counseling and Small Group Meeting Room $100,000
A mainstay of Club work with children is our life skills and behavioral workshops. Topics include substance abuse, anger management, financial literacy, peer pressure, diversity training, positive role models, and much, much more. A small, private environment encourages the participants to interact and express themselves. It will also serve as a space where our partners can provide professional counseling on site.
Entrance Lobby $200,000
Our most visible space will create a welcoming feeling with emphasis on displaying pictures, art work and projects and will also contain a memorabilia case depicting the over half century tradition of our organization and a donor wall for the generous participants in our building project.
Music Room and Practice Studio $100,000
As part of our Performing Arts effort, we intend to offer low and no cost instruction in instrumental and voice music. We have included a sound-proof practice studio as well.
Our long-term goal is to have a band and a choir as part of our Boys & Girls Club.
Audio/Video Studio $150,000
Digital music, video, and photography are attracting enormous interest from the youth we serve. Many will likely also embrace and expand these skills through their career choices.
Games Room/Social Recreation Area $750,000
The Games Room is the traditional gathering place for Club members. Youth will engage in fun activities with their peers like foosball, ping-pong, pool, and board games. Through these activities, children learn how to interact with others in a positive manner, develop problem-solving skills, and make lasting friendships.
Kitchen $200,000
Many of the youth we serve qualify for the free or reduced lunch programs in school. We will administer this program during the summer and use our kitchen to continue our cooking and nutrition instruction programs. Children learn basic food preparation and hygiene through a series of hands-on classes and explore different cultures through food. This energy-efficient kitchen will also allow us and other community based organizations to cater special events in our gymnasium or off site.
Administrative Offices $250,000
This area not only houses the staff that administers the Club and assists the Board of Directors in funding the Club, but also gives many of our youngsters an opportunity to learn basic office skills through our Junior Staff program.
Community Offices $200,000
We have set aside space for other community based organizations to conduct their administrative business. We are especially concentrating on volunteer organizations, such as Little League, that serve children in our community.
Conference Room $100,000
Not only a place for our voluntary governing board to meet, but a place for our community partners and other organizations as well.
Canteen $75,000
Our canteen will offer quick and healthy after-school snacks and serve as a snack bar for organized athletic events held in our gym. This area will be managed by our Teen Leadership Group, teaching them the basics of managing a business.
Weight Room $100,000
In conjunction with our other nutrition and age-appropriate physical fitness programs, supervised strength training offers adolescents an opportunity to tone their developing bodies and learn the discipline necessary for a healthy lifestyle.
Entry Control Room $75,000
Safety is a priority at the Boys & Girls Club. All children are checked in daily at the entrance and authorized visitors are signed in and out. Assigned Staff in this area are responsible for greeting children and supervising the Games Room, Lobby, Canteen, and Hall.
Exterior Landscaping $200,000
The exterior of our facility is also part of our program. The landscaping plan calls for low maintenance plantings and natural materials to soften the hardscape. We will have outdoor gathering and eating areas as well as our own garden for the children to maintain and learn about horticulture and agriculture.
Other Spaces $300,000
Storage spaces, hallways, mechanical rooms, restrooms and showers are all important components of our facility and also provide highly visible areas suited for name recognition. There is a variety of sponsorship opportunities beginning at $15,000.
Mini-Bus $75,000
Mini-buses provide safe and dependable transportation for our youth to community service projects and field trips, providing them with academic opportunities and life-skill experiences. Naming of a mini-bus will provide businesses and organizations with great recognition in the community.
